Happy December and an early Merry Christmas from our family to yours! I thought it would be totally fitting to share our 2017 family photos with everyone today. :)
This year we scheduled our session with the amazing Erin Peck, Storyteller. I've been following her photography since we moved to Washington, and I just love how she captures those special moments so beautifully. We met her at Owen Beach at Point Defiance Park in Tacoma on a summer-ish evening in September. Since Adler was not impressed AT ALL during our session last year, I was kind of nervous about this year. He was slightly better this time around (but only SLIGHTLY), and he did warm up to Erin eventually. The kids hadn't been to Owen Beach before, so they had a great time exploring the beach, being photo bombed by some deer, and watching the ferries come and go over at the ferry terminal. The tide was in so there wasn't quite as much beach as usual, but we made it work. :) The weather was perfect and the skies were clear, so we were able to see Mount Rainier and even get a few photos with our favorite mountain in the background!

I really loved the outfits I picked out this year! I usually gravitate toward a "fall" theme, but since this year our session was on the beach and earlier in the season than I normally book, I decided to go for more of a casual, almost urban look. These outfits are something I would recommend for like a downtown location, but they really worked on the beach as well! Most of it was stuff we already had in our closets with a few special purchases. :)
